Zoo de Doue

View The Return of the Loire on robinstride's travel map.

Pre Blog

About 20 years ago we visited Zoo de Doue with Helen, she was around 6 or 7, things were going extremely well. We kept on telling her to keep away from the cages and dont touch the animals.

Half way around the zoo we came across the Petting Zoo, full of sheep, goats etc

In we went, then I ran out leaving Helen in the middle (no one else was around) and then I shouted "Helen, why are you in the cage with the animals ?"

At that time the goats descended on Helen as I had left some pop corn in her hand ...... She looked round in horror and screamed !

Well I got my comeuppance, when going back in one of the goats ate my camera strap !!

Scarborough to Hull

View The Return of the Loire on robinstride's travel map.

Pre-Blog

So since our return on 15th March 2020 from Vietnam cut short via the world pandemic Corona virus, we have been holed up in Scarborough. Life is beginning to return to normal, so we thought we would risk the journey to the Loire Valley, France. On 10th July 2020, travel restrictions were lifted so that the compulsory 14 day quarantine was lifted, so we were enable to travel.

We have therefore booked a week down in the Loire Valley.

Today we travel from our now permanent home in Scarborough to Hull, a journey of only 1 hour. We board the P&O ferry from Hull to Rotterdam sailing at 8:30 p.m.

We are taking the BMW (convertible) so we are hoping for some great cruising weather in France.

With dinner on-board, and a club cabin, we should have a good trip
